The oil-finished Dark is different from the unpainted, faded texture characteristic of the Coupe series, finished in a moderately glossy, wet-looking dark brown. It fits well in rooms with a calm atmosphere using vintage furniture and creates a sophisticated adult elegance.

The wide bench is characterized by allowing multiple people to sit, not limiting one person per chair like a chair. It can increase seating capacity in a smaller space compared to adding more chairs when guests come.

Also, the charm of the bench is that you can freely choose where to sit according to your mood or situation, such as "moving to the center when sharing a large plate" or "sitting at the edge when you want to secure a little workspace."

Since it has no backrest, it can be accessed from the back, making entry and exit smooth, which is also a point.

The material uses precious solid teak wood. The bench made from a luxurious single slab with natural edges has an attractive appearance that makes the most of the natural shape and wood grain.

Teak wood, known for its delicate and beautiful grain, stands out even more with an oil finish, giving the space warmth and sophistication through its unique texture and deep color.

Teak wood is resistant to moisture and easy to care for. Regular maintenance with a tightly wrung cloth is sufficient to clean dirt.

Because natural wood is used, knots and cracks may be visible, and some products are finished as is. Some cracks are reinforced with ribbon-shaped "inlays" which not only prevent the cracks from spreading but also serve as a design accent.

Since craftsmen hand-make each piece while preserving the material's natural qualities, the size, wood grain, knots, color variations, presence or absence of knots and inlays differ for each item. Please enjoy these as characteristics of natural solid teak wood and handmade craftsmanship.

We offer two sizes, W1500 and W1800, to match the dining tables of the same series.

Since about 600mm or more width per adult is recommended for dining, the W1500 is ideal for two people and the W1800 for three people when used as a dining bench. If you want a more spacious area, using the W1800 as a two-seater is also recommended◎

The height is 450mm, designed to be just right when used together with the Coupe series dining table (height 720mm).

Teak wood, which contains natural oils, develops a sheen and changes color with use, deepening its character. Of course, the oil finish allows you to enjoy the natural aging process without losing its natural texture.

About care

• For everyday care, wiping with a tightly wrung cloth is sufficient to remove dirt.
• For simple stains, sand along the grain with #240-#1000 sandpaper.
• For maintenance, regularly applying wax will provide waterproof and water-repellent effects and allow you to enjoy a beautiful aging process. For those who want a dry, uncoated look, we recommend Arbor Dry Wax. Due to its high volatility, Dry Wax returns to a dry texture after application while protecting from dirt and other elements. Compared to oils and other waxes, it is a new type of wax that is less likely to create a moist texture. Please purchase from the Maruhon official website.
  * Because teak wood itself retains a lot of oil, its color gradually deepens and its luster increases with aging.

Precautions

• Avoid excessive drying and humidity. Only the tabletop is treated with wax for water repellency. Regular care with matte wax is recommended.
• As a pest control measure during manufacturing, LENTREK coating and kiln drying are performed.
• Solid teak wood adjusts moisture in the air and repeatedly expands and contracts. Due to changes in moisture content depending on the environment, it tends to change in size and shape, which appears as gaps at joints, warping, bending, and cracks.
