A comfortable chair with a sophisticated design
The "Carew chair" features a deeply curved backrest and short armrests. The wide seat sinks in just enough and provides stability. Its charm lies in its simple design that naturally blends into any era and any space.
The backrest uses "molded plywood," a woodworking technique that involves layering thin slices of wood and bending them. It curves deeply backward, supporting the body as if embracing it. Molded plywood, which expresses beautiful curves and boasts high durability despite its light weight, is a material that combines functionality and design, and is used in various interiors.
The short armrests fit well under tables and allow for smooth entry and exit. With fewer lines obstructing the space, it gives a clean impression.
At first glance, it may seem difficult to rest your elbows, but the armrests are designed to be in just the right position when you sit deeply, thanks to the curve of the backrest.
Its lightweight design also makes it easy to move around. Another key feature is its ease of use, as the armrests can be hooked onto the tabletop.
The material used is red oak. Its slightly reddish, warm color is appealing, giving it a gentle and calm atmosphere.
It is finished with urethane, making it resistant to dirt, stains, and moisture, and hard to scratch, making it easy to care for. If it gets noticeably dirty, wipe it with a damp cloth wrung out tightly.
The seat is PVC finished, making it resistant to dirt, and it has a moist, supple texture similar to genuine leather.
While you can certainly use it as is, we also recommend changing the atmosphere with a removable seat cover. Covers are available in 3 types and 6 colors.
About the cover fabric
《Corduroy》
Our specially developed Japanese-made fabric with a vintage finish has a long pile and uneven texture, creating an antique furniture-like appearance. While corduroy is often thought to be hot in summer, it is moisture-absorbing and keeps the surface smooth, so you can use it comfortably all year round.
《Tweed》
This is an eco-friendly Japanese-made upcycled material woven from fibers discarded at factories. It's ANTRY's original tweed fabric. The unique woven pattern, incorporating threads of different shades, creates a sense of depth and luxury. Its sophisticated, classical appearance matches a wide range of interior designs, from modern to traditional.
《Velour》
This suede-like fabric has a smooth and soft touch, yet its natural luster allows it to express multiple facets. It is highly scratch-resistant and has an environmentally friendly fluorine-free water-repellent finish.

- Wipe off dirt from the nude seat (seat without cover) with a wrung-out cloth.
- Cover fabrics can be dry-cleaned.※
- The wooden parts are urethane finished, so no special maintenance is required.
