amuco Bamboo Low Stool - A low, lightweight bamboo stool

This chair has an impressive shape with a tapered center like a drum and spirally assembled sides. It is lower than a typical stool, so it blends naturally into low-height interiors. It is perfect for when you want to sit down for a bit or add a light accent to a space.
The "amuco" series, made by hand in Thailand

The "amuco" series of handmade everyday items, discovered in Thailand, is recommended for those who want to subtly incorporate an atmosphere that connects them to somewhere in the world into their lives.
We have a selection of items that suit a variety of lifestyles, including baskets that can be used for storage or when going out, as well as stools that can be used as seats or displays.
By incorporating just one item, you can bring a touch of exoticism into your everyday life, making you feel as if the world has suddenly expanded. Such small changes can bring a comfortable sense of space into your daily life.
Thailand, where we made our purchases this time, is a country with rich nature and a long history.
Natural tropical materials such as rattan and bamboo have long been used to make a variety of handicrafts, including household items, furniture, and bags, and have played an integral role in people's lives as everyday tools.
Lightweight bamboo material that is easy to use in everyday life

The material is bamboo, which is flexible and strong.
The sides have a spiral structure made by continuously rotating bamboo, and the drum-shaped curves distribute the force, creating a sense of stability that is greater than it appears. There will be individual differences in height and form, but please enjoy this as a unique feature of handmade work.

The seat is made of recycled PP bands, a material that was once used as bags. In Thailand, you can find seats with a variety of different expressions, including ones with letters and patterns still attached, but for this project we have mainly selected white woven ones. This brings out the texture of the bamboo and gives the overall impression of lightness.
The weave is a "tortoiseshell weave" technique that can also be seen in Japanese bamboo crafts, and the hexagonal openwork pattern gives it a light and breathable finish. The rational structure prevents pressure from being concentrated in one point, and the seat gradually conforms to the shape of your body as you continue to use it.

Locally, stools are used as a means of sitting down between daily tasks.
In addition to using it as a seat, it is also recommended to use it as a place to place plants, a temporary place to put blankets or bags, or as a side table.
This chair can be easily incorporated into lifestyles where you mainly sit on the floor or in spaces where you don't have a sofa, and its role can be changed to suit the user's lifestyle.
About the product

Because it is made from natural bamboo, there are individual differences in color, texture, and knot pattern. Please enjoy the unique look of each piece.
Please note that as this is a handmade product, there may be slight differences in height and shape between individual items.

The PP band used for the seat is made from recycled material, so slight fuzziness or scuffing may be visible on the surface. This does not affect use.
