Valuing readability
Classic clock from the RIKI series

The "RIKI CLOCK," designed by pioneer of Japanese modern design Riki Watanabe in collaboration with Lemnos, combines a plywood frame with a lively typeface and is designed with the image of "lightness."

It blends into your life while having a beauty and presence that makes you want to glance at it.

An elegant design embodying "lightness"

This clock, carefully designed for both visibility and aesthetics, won the Good Design Award in Japan in 2004. The twelve large numbers use a light and dynamic typeface, with detailed adjustments made not only to their placement but also to the size of each number. The hands have different thicknesses and lengths, and the balance with the dial was carefully designed through repeated full-scale sketches posted on the wall and examined in detail.

The shape of the numbers and the length of the markings are designed to naturally guide the viewer's gaze to the center. The design, which prominently features a flowing typeface, overlaps with the quiet rotation of the clock hands, gently conveying the passage of time.

Plywood frame showcasing craftsmanship

The plywood used for the frame is crafted by woodworkers who have specialized for many years in making musical instruments such as tambourines and drums. While retaining the warmth unique to handcraftsmanship, skilled techniques achieve a precise circle and beautiful finish.

A modest size that blends into your room

With a compact size of about 20cm in diameter and about 5cm in depth, it blends comfortably with the wall and naturally fits into any space.

Also, the quiet movement of the sweep second hand (which moves smoothly) allows you to use it without worrying about noise, making it perfect for spaces like bedrooms and studies.

Designs by Riki Watanabe loved for a long time

The "RIKI CLOCK" series is one of the products that Riki Watanabe, who laid the foundation of Japanese modern design, enthusiastically worked on as a lifelong project even into his 90s. His creativity never waned in his later years, and the clocks and watches he designed continue to bring beautiful time to many people's lives today.

During the dawn of postwar Japanese design, Watanabe, who supported product design, valued perspectives such as harmony, scenery, and visibility, combining beauty and functionality in the tool of a clock.
The "Hibiya Dai-ichi Seimei Pole Clock" is known as Watanabe's representative work, recognized by himself and others, and it greatly influenced the subsequent form of public clocks. Its design is highly regarded by architects and designers both in Japan and abroad and continues to be supported today.

The "RIKI CLOCK" series is not only a tool to tell time but also a presence that gently complements the space. Its appearance, uncompromising in both visibility and beauty, leaves a lasting impression every time you look at it, making it a clock you want to cherish for a long time.
