ANTRY INC. will celebrate its 25th anniversary on November 11, 2024.
Since our founding, we have long admired ercol, a company whose timeless modern design continues to grow in appeal. ercol has always been a guiding light for us, and we hold the highest respect for their design, craftsmanship, and business philosophy.
From the beginning, ANTRY has been sourcing vintage furniture from overseas. Among our most exciting finds have been ercol chairs, which we've searched for like hidden treasures. The Butterfly Chair has always been our favorite of all the iconic chairs and holds a special place in our hearts. Despite our long search, we've only encountered a few in the past 25 years.

Designed in 1956 by Lucian Ercolani, the Butterfly Chair is a true masterpiece. It is cherished as a Mid-Century Classic for its delicate curves and sculptural sophistication.
Now, the Butterfly Chair is in the new L.Ercolani collection, which is the home of classic designs by Lucian Ercolani sitting together our modern iconic designs, which is part of Ercol.

We created a custom stain finish for this unique collaboration to replicate the vintage feel we adore. Additionally, as a collaboration-exclusive feature, we've added a custom signature wood-burning stamp, and each chair will carry the handwritten signature of Henry Tadros, the great-grandson of Lucian Ercolani and the current Chairman of ercol and L.ERCOLANI.

Ercol is a well-loved name in the furniture world, cherished by vintage enthusiasts and seasoned collectors. Founded in 1920 by Lucian Ercolani, the company has become one of the most iconic furniture makers in the UK. At the age of 32, Lucian managed the business and contributed as a designer and craftsman.

A dedicated designer, Lucian pursued modern design. As a craftsman, he played a significant role in the mass production of traditional British Windsor chairs. His achievements are immense.
Now over 100 years old, ercol continues to be run by Lucian's family as one of the UK's longest-standing furniture manufacturers. At ercol's UK-based factory, skilled artisans carefully process and assemble each piece. The perfect balance of comfort, functionality, and design makes ercol furniture appealing. Whether new or vintage, ercol's beautiful products transcend time and trends, remaining beloved by many.
A Message from ercol Chairman Henry Tadros
I am so happy to be working with Antry to celebrate our iconic Butterfly Chair with them on their 25th anniversary. It is wonderful to know that they have a deep appreciation of ercol and the pieces that my great grandfather designed so many years ago. And so to celebrate their incredible achievement I was very pleased to make this limited edition version of our iconic chair.
Doing a collaboration like this with Antry means that we are able to keep evolving the iconic designs of Lucian so many years after he first designed them. He would have loved to have known that we were launching this version of the Butterfly Chair with a store that has such respect to the classic forms and hopefully they will be cherished for decades to come by its customers.

My encounter with Henry Tadros, the current Chairman of ercol and L.ERCOLANI, happened a few years ago in France when Henry was not yet Chairman.
After he was appointed, I congratulated him and mentioned that ANTRY was celebrating its 25th anniversary. Henry graciously offered to help us celebrate, which led to the realization of this 25th-anniversary collaboration chair. I am incredibly grateful to Henry for signing every chair we produced for this limited edition.
Ercol, a company that has continued to create beautiful, functional, and beloved furniture for over 100 years, remains a great inspiration and a primary goal for us.
ANTRY is now only 25 years old. Although we still have a long way to go before reaching Ercol's stature, one of my current goals is to make ANTRY a company that has been loved for many years.
