Coal Floor Light | Quiet Light for Your "Favorite Spot"

With turning legs inspired by British vintage and a beige fabric shade, this slender and dignified floor light adds "calmness" and "depth" to any room.

When relying solely on overhead lighting, the light tends to spread uniformly, making the space feel flat. The Coal Floor Light creates a soft glow at eye level, gently illuminating walls and surroundings. It transforms "your usual spot"—next to the sofa, by the bedside, or in a corner of the room—into a "personal sanctuary" perfect for the evening.

The cotton-linen (beige) shade softens the light, wrapping the space in a gentle glow rather than emitting a harsh, direct light. Perfect for reading, listening to music, watching movies, or unwinding before bed. The subdued light helps calm your mind.

The silhouette of the turning wood is understated yet beautifully artistic. The rich character of recycled teak, complemented by brass and steel accents, naturally blends into a wide range of spaces, from natural and vintage to modern.

Made from recycled teak wood that has been thoroughly dried over many years, we intentionally preserve its natural imperfections like scratches, knots, and processing marks. This highlights the material's inherent beauty and results in a unique, handcrafted piece.

As you use it, the surface will deepen into a rich amber color due to the natural oils characteristic of teak. You can also enjoy the process of it developing its own unique patina with age.

Recommended Light Bulbs

For the Coal Floor Light, we recommend an incandescent-colored light bulb (warm light). Floor lights are not meant to illuminate an entire room but to create a comfortable ambiance for relaxing in the evening.

① Color Temperature 2200K / Approx. 320lm (equivalent to 30W)
A very soft, orange-tinted light, like a candle or lamp.
Recommended for relaxing before bed, by the bedside, or as indirect lighting.

② Color Temperature 2700K / Approx. 325lm (equivalent to 40W)
The standard incandescent color, offering a good balance of warmth and visibility.
This brightness is suitable for reading next to a sofa, or for living rooms and retail spaces.

  • Regarding overseas use
    This product is designed and manufactured according to Japanese electrical facility specifications. Using it outside Japan may cause it to malfunction, break down, or ignite. We are not responsible for any damage or malfunctions caused by use outside Japan.

Product and Material Characteristics

  • Teak wood repeatedly expands and contracts due to humidity changes, which may lead to warping, bending, cracking, and gaps at joints.

Handling

  • The shade is a catch type. Attach it by fitting the metal part over the light bulb (compatible bulb outer diameter: 50-60mm).
  • For regular cleaning, wipe lightly with a firmly wrung cloth.
  • Regular use of natural wood oil or beeswax wax will help maintain its beautiful appearance for longer.
