Designed by Lucian Ercolani in 1956, the BUTTERFLY CHAIR is the perfect everyday dining chair. Its delicate curves and sophisticated sculptural design make it a beloved mid-century classic.

The simple, clean form reflects Lucien Arcolani's design philosophy and traditional craftsmanship, achieving an optimal balance between form and function by removing unnecessary elements from the chair's construction. The result is timeless furniture that is both elegant and comfortable.

The butterfly chair's distinctive shape gives a sense of lightness and purity. The design is inspired by the traditional beauty of Windsor style furniture, combining a playful, iconic silhouette with comfortable seating. The rounded curves of the bentwood gently fit the contours of the body, providing comfort and peace of mind to the person sitting on it.

What's more, the Butterfly Chair's best features are in its details. It features a traditional Windsor-style wedge-and-tenon joint, where the chair legs pass through the seat and are secured by a wedge. This provides a strong and durable base suitable for everyday use.

The Butterfly Chair is now part of the L.Ercolani collection, a new collection that combines Lucien Arcolani's classic design with Ercol's iconic modern design.

This chair offers warm, soft aesthetics and comfort for modern living.

This model has Synergy upholstery from British fabric manufacturer Camira on the seat. A blend of 5% nylon and pure virgin wool, the first to spin sheep's wool without any recycled wool. Natural and simple, Synergy features delicate felt and beautiful drape. A soft, strong, and colorful fabric. The colors are carefully selected from 1200 prototype colors, combining both "yarn dyeing" and "piece dyeing" techniques.
