Mur Console Mini - Buying Guide
Mur Console Mini - Buying Guide
When there's a little empty space on a wall, you often want to decorate it with something. A favorite postcard, a small vase, a souvenir from a trip. Even everyday items like these can look a little special just by having a dedicated place to display them.
The Mur Console Mini is a small wall shelf designed to create such a "place to display your favorite things." There are several types with different designs, but they differ not only in appearance but also in depth and subtle finishes.
To help you choose, we'll introduce the features of each.
Differences in Depth

The Console Mini not only differs in design but also has slight variations in depth. Although it's only a difference of a few centimeters, it can surprisingly affect how you use and display items.
| Type | Model | Recommended Use |
|---|---|---|
|
Shallow 10cm |
Half Half Wide |
Keys, accessories, small figurines, etc. Easy to incorporate into limited spaces like entryways. |
|
Deep 13cm |
Arch Arch Wide Rect |
For displaying cups & saucers, plants, and various goods arranged front-to-back. |

This difference in depth is also a key feature when combining multiple Console Minis. By pairing a deeper one on the bottom with a shallower one on top, you can create a natural sense of dimension on your wall.
You can enjoy a varied look while keeping within the same series.
Differences in Leg Design
The leg design significantly influences the overall impression of the Console Mini.

Type A
Half / Half Wide
A soft, rounded form. It has a somehow familiar and gentle atmosphere. Its charm lies in its warm and inviting wooden presence.

Type B
Arch / Arch Wide
A solid, angular form. It has a moderate presence and can serve as an accent on the wall. Recommended for those who prefer a clean impression.

Type C
Rect
A delicate turned design. It has a handcrafted feel and exudes a classical impression. It subtly adds individuality while highlighting the items displayed on it.
Differences in Edge Processing
The edges of each top plate also feature different finishes. While seemingly a small difference, these subtle details significantly alter the overall impression.

Half / Half Wide
Softly rounded
Gentle to the touch, creating a serene overall atmosphere.

Arch / Arch Wide
Carved curve
Creates shadows and a sharp look. For those who prefer a clean impression.

Rect
Gentle three-dimensionality
While rounded, it's not overly sweet, giving a calm impression. For those who prefer a well-balanced presence that naturally blends into the space.
How to Install Mur Console Mini
The Mur Console Mini uses keyhole hanging brackets, which means the hardware isn't visible from the front. While this allows for a clean installation on the wall, determining the screw positions requires a bit of technique.
Here, we'll introduce a method using masking tape.

Keyhole brackets are a type of hardware where the head of a screw installed in the wall is passed through the round hole of the bracket, and the shelf is then slid downwards to secure it.
Attach masking tape to the back
Attach masking tape to the back of the Console Mini, aligning it with the bracket positions. It's recommended to leave the tape a little long, extending slightly beyond the sides.

Mark the hole positions of the brackets
Mark the hole positions at the top of the brackets. Once marked, remove the masking tape and keep it.

Mark the installation position on the wall
Hold the Console Mini against the desired installation spot and mark the position of the top edge of the shelf.

Transfer the height to the sides
Using the mark as a reference, make marks at the same height a little further to the left and right. It's not necessary to precisely measure the width here; an approximate position is fine.

Attach masking tape to the wall
Attach the masking tape to the wall, aligning it with the marks.
The key is to align the top edge of the masking tape with the marks on the wall. Additionally, if you prepare the tape so that "tape top edge = shelf top edge," it will be easier to install at the desired height.

Drive in the screws
Drive in the screws according to the marks on the masking tape. Don't tighten them all the way; leave the heads slightly protruding. This will create space for hooking the brackets.

Hang the shelf and finish
Remove the masking tape and hang the Console Mini on the brackets to complete the installation. If the legs are single, after hanging the Console Mini, drive screws through the holes in the leg sections.

If you're unsure, start with the shape you like best
You might want to display your favorite dishes or plants.
You might need a place to put your keys by the entrance.
If you have such a specific idea, choosing according to what you want to display is one approach.
But it's perfectly fine if you don't have a specific purpose yet.
"I like this shape."
"I'm drawn to this atmosphere."
Choosing based on such intuition is also one of the joys of living.
Once installed on the wall, you might surprisingly find something you want to display there, or feel like showcasing your favorite items that you've kept hidden away.
Start with just one.
Enjoy creating your own wall space by making a small home in that empty spot on the wall.
